‘Jatadhara’ Box Office Collection Day 4: Sudheer Babu & Sonakshi Sinha Starrer Sees Major Drop, Earns ₹35 Lakh

After a strong start over the weekend, Jatadhara, the mythological horror thriller starring Sudheer Babu and Sonakshi Sinha, witnessed a significant dip in its box office collection on its fourth day. The film, which opened to decent numbers in both Telugu and Hindi languages, saw earnings fall sharply on Monday, marking its first major slowdown since release.

🎬 ‘Jatadhara’ Box Office Performance So Far:

According to early estimates by Sacnilk, the film collected around ₹1.07 crore on Friday, matching the same figure on Saturday. It gained some momentum on Sunday, registering ₹1.25 crore, thanks to positive word of mouth in certain regions and strong weekend occupancy.

However, Monday brought a steep decline, with the movie managing to earn just ₹35 lakh, bringing its total four-day collection to approximately ₹3.74 crore. This drop of nearly 70% compared to the weekend performance signals that weekday footfalls have slowed significantly, especially in urban centers.

🍿 Occupancy Trends Across Regions

‘Jatadhara’ recorded an overall 13.14% occupancy in Telugu states on Monday, November 10, 2025. The morning shows maintained around 13.62%, while afternoon screenings saw a slight rise at 14.34%. Evening shows dipped to 11.27%, and night shows settled around 13.34%, according to industry trackers.

In contrast, the Hindi version saw a much weaker turnout with just 6.70% overall occupancy. The morning shows performed relatively better at 8.10%, but attendance dropped during the afternoon (5.66%) and evening (5.97%) slots, before closing the night with 7.07% occupancy.

The sharp decline in the Hindi version highlights the film’s regional limitations and its inability to connect deeply with the North Indian audience, despite the presence of Sonakshi Sinha in a strong negative role.

🌌 About the Movie ‘Jatadhara’

Directed by Venkat Kalyan and Abhishek Jaiswal, Jatadhara blends mythology, mystery, and spirituality in a gripping horror-thriller narrative. The story draws inspiration from the legendary secrets of the Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Kerala, particularly the sealed underground vaults that have long fascinated historians and devotees alike.

Sudheer Babu plays the role of Shiva, a man caught between spiritual duty and human greed, while Sonakshi Sinha, in her Telugu debut, portrays Dhanapisachini — a powerful, dark force driven by desire and vengeance.

The film explores themes of greed, sacrifice, and enlightenment, using mythological references and striking visuals to create a tense, atmospheric experience.

💬 Audience and Critical Reception:

While Jatadhara has earned praise for its unique concept and visual scale, the film’s mixed reviews suggest that it struggles to maintain its emotional and narrative grip throughout its runtime.

Critics appreciated Sonakshi Sinha’s intense screen presence and Sudheer Babu’s controlled performance, but noted that the film’s pacing and screenplay lose momentum midway. The background score and cinematography have also received positive mentions, especially in scenes depicting the temple vaults and supernatural sequences.

Despite the creative ambition, Jatadhara seems to have limited repeat value, which may have contributed to its Monday slump.

🎥 Can ‘Jatadhara’ Recover at the Box Office?

With a total of ₹3.74 crore in four days, Jatadhara now faces an uphill task to regain momentum. The coming weekend will be crucial — especially if the film hopes to cross the ₹10 crore mark in its first week.

Word of mouth will play a decisive role, particularly among Telugu audiences who are more receptive to mythological and spiritual storylines. However, the competition from new releases and limited screens in Hindi belts might restrict its overall growth.

If the film can sustain modest numbers through the week, it could still break even, but the sharp decline indicates it may settle for an average run unless audience interest revives soon.
